? THE NEW YORK BOTANICAL GARDEN Plants of Ghana No. 85 ANNONACEAE Mischoovne elliotiana GHANA. Ashanti: Sekyere. Bobiri Forest Reserve. 6°38’N, 1°17’W. Moist semi-deciduous forest with many lianas. Humus of topsoil up to 20cm deep. Avg.of 1500mm/y rain. Small tree, 7m tall. Base of bole fluted, resembles dead wood when old. Many shoots near base. Bark smooth, gray, flakes when old. Slash cream-colored; turns brown. Leaves simple, elliptic, apex acuminate, margin entire. Young leaves hairy; older leaves usually glabrous. S.
