headquarters? mixed mesophytic forest with Metrosideros
dominant and scattered populations of Acacia koa, with
understory of Cibotium tree ferns, alt. 1140 m.
Low tree 6 m. tall, bole 30 cm. in diam., branching
at 1.5 m., bark smooth pale brown, crown spreading,
rounded. Flowers yellowish white. Pods green witl
yellow pubescence, ovules with transverse to
longitudinal orientation in pods. 13.III.1988
