KAUAI: Kbloa District: Lihue-Koloa Forest Preserve, along
ridge ESE of Pu'u Kolo; diverse mixed mesophytic forest
with Acacia koa, Metrosideros, Canthium, Santalum, Cyanea
& Bidens, stunted on windward side and taller on leeward
side of ridge, alt. 1200-1850 feet.
Low tree 3 m. tall with spreading crown, phyllodes dull
green. Flowers yellowish white. Fruits slightly curling,
seeds oriented mostly obliquely. Locally common, endemic
