  • Description

This fits B. pila except the spores are larger & are definitely echinulate instead of smooth. These are 6-7 microns in diameter, echinulate, globose, with and occasional stump of a pedicel, brown in KOH. The capillitium is dichotomously branched and up to 12 microns in diameter at the thickest part; the ends are attenuated to sharp, pointed apicies and the capillatium is brown (Trueblood's notes). Spores globose with short stub of pedicel, wall with plugs, giving echinulate appearence, pedicel staight easily lost up to 5 microns. Phenology of specimen: Basidiomata.
