Field Char: Canopy tree 20 m tall; bark smooth,
light reddish-brown on inner surface; wood
medium brown; leaves moist-textured,
coriaceous, glossy dark green above, medium
green below.
Notes: Fruits green, immature ones with floccose
tan hairs. Occasional, several sightings in
early fruits.
Locality: Morobe Province; Markham River; at
Xuposu (pies nem) near the margin of Labu
Swamp.
Habitat: Talus slopes in old regrowth,
extensive tree-falling in evidence
from selective logging and farming
activity.
