Field Char: Canopy tree; bark thick, surface
scrape red, inner bark pink & furrowed; leaves
brittle; veins yellow; drupes approx.
ellipsoid, epicarp green with a pale brown
arachnoid indumentum.
Notes: The timbers are used in house
construction.
Locality: East Sepik Province, Waskuk Hills,
main ridge above the foot track between Langu
and Garuka, in Gala Clan territory .
Habitat: Hill forest. Canopy tree li on steep
Gleichenia-dominated slopes.
