On gentle northern slope, in dry streambed, in full sun. In well-drained soil of
alluvial sand. Native and occasional. Desert.
Perennial succulent herb, 30 cm high and 1 m in diameter. Sessile, solitary,
glabrous leaves opposite, suborbicular, 30x20 mm. Solitary white flowers with
2 large sepals and 2 small sepals. Bud enclosed by 2 large sepals.
