Humus of topsoil up to 20cm deep. Avg.of 1500mm/y rain. Medium-sized tree 25m tall. Often fluted at base, sometimes with small buttresses. Round, straight bole* Twigs ridged. Very hard, brittle, smooth bark. Slash cream-colored to light yellow or brown. Leaves simple, elliptic, acuminate, margin entire, pustulate and glabrous. S.
