THE NEW YORK BOTANICAL GARDEN Plants of Ghana No. 84 Trllepisium madaoascariense MORACEAE GHANA. Ashanti: Sekyere. Bobiri Forest Reserve. 6°38’N, 1 ° 17 ’ W. Moist semi-deciduous forest with many lianas. Humus of topsoil up to 20cm deep. Avg.of 1500mm/y rain. Tree with dense, dark crown, 31m tall. Branchlets have characteristic circular leaf scars. Bark brittle, smooth, brown. Slash yellow, turns brown; foetid smell; white, copious, sticky latex. Leaves simple, narrowly elliptic, unequal base; few, tiny, simple hairs. S.
