Sierra del Tigre, 3 miles south of Mazamitla, elevation 2100-2200
m.; steep hillsides in pine forest areas, in heavy red day loam.
Local; in a moist hollow; also edge of
old cornfield.
Fruit fusiform; corolla deep lavender,
lobes with purple midrib; plant from very-
deep (15-20 cm.) horizontal rhizome.
