Field Char: Tree 20 m tall x 18 cm dbh.
Bark brown; underbark reddish brown, 3
mm thick, with red sap. Fruit cream
colored, 4.5 cm diameter, fleshy; aril
bright red; seeds shining, dark brown.
Locality: Sumatra: Riau Province,
Tigapuluh Mts., 5 km W of Telanglakat on
Rengat-Jambi Rd., Bukit Karampal area.
Habitat: Mature secondary forest,
uncommon.
