Locality:
Borneo; W. Kalimantan, Sintang.
Bukit Baka National Park. NE of camp; ridge above
Sungai Ella.
0o38'S 112°17’E Alt: 350 m
Habitat:
Mixed dipterocarp forest, associates include Shorea,
Meliaceae, Myrtaceae. Red clay soil.
Field Char:
Tree 15 m tall, 21 cm dbh. Outer bark brown,
flaking, rugose. Inner bark pale. Latex reddish-
brown. Flower 0.5 cm diam. Petals outside brown,
pilose; inside dark red, yellow at base.
Notes:
Local name: Kumpong arang. Photo fruit and bark
slash.
