Field Char: Canopy emergent; outer bark dark
brown, inner bark pale brown; wood tan-light
brown, dense; fruits red-brown turning purple,
mostly cauline, single seeds with smooth, light
tan coat; pedicels red.
Notes: Rootwood bright yellow. Single sighting
in fertile condition; photos at BISH.
Locality: Morobe Province: Herzog Mountains,
Gabensis logging track.
Habitat: Foothill forest with mixture of
lowland and low montane taxa, in old
growth along a secondary ridgeline.
