ANREDERA Jussieu 60‘mphrena voiubilis Blanco f*L Filip. (1837) 199 (sp. nov.); ed. 2 (1845) 140; ed. 3, 1 (1877) 252=ANREDERA SCANDENS (Linn.) Moq. (A. cumingii Hassk.). This species is very abundant in thickets in and near Manila. It was introduced from tropical America by the Spaniards and was thoroughly established previous to the year 1837, as Blanco notes that it was then common in Paranaque. Anredera cum- ingii Hassk. was based on Philippine material collected by Cuming. Illustrative specimen from Pasay, Rizal Province, Luzon, No- vember, 1914 {Merrill: Species Blancoanae No. 188).
