Field Char: Canopy tree; leaves dry and
stiff-textured, dull medium green above, light
green below with brown hairs; sparsely foliated
and sparingly branched, bark thin and difficult
to peel.
Notes: Perianth yellow, in 2 whorls of 3.
Common in this area, many individuals fertile.
Locality: East Sepik province; April river;
Samsai ridge near Bugabugi camp.
Habitat: Diverse hill forest on crestline of
buttress ridge, community primarily of
lowland rain forest taxa, dense
multi-layer canopy with shrubby
understory, many ferns.
