Plants of the Gaoligong Shan Region, Yunnan, China Magnoliaceae Manglietia insignis (Wallich) Blume Longyang Qu, Bawan Xiang. Km 41 along road across Dahaoping pass, E slope on trail loop to Dayang village forest station, E side of Gaoligong Shan. Elev. 2453 m 24° 54’ 56" N, 98° 45’ 23" E E facing 10-30° slope. Subtropical evergreen broadleaf forest. Disturbed by felling. Subtropical evergreen broadleaf forest disturbed by fire and fellong. Dominated by Lithocarpus, Castanopsis, Rhododendron, Bamboo, Symplocos. Tree ca. 20 m tall. Petals pink abaxially white adaxially. Young fruit green. Rare.
