  • Description

    Climbing lofty trees, stems looping and climbing 1/2 inch thick towards the top, terete, flexible, covered with thin yellowish grey bark, which is green beneath the epidermis; wood fibrous and tough, with a brown pith; petioles ascending; blades descending, coriaceous, flat, apex recurved, the margins also involutely recurved, nearly equally green on both sides; inflorescent spikes axillary and pendant, the stalk green and soft in texture; the pistillate flowers solitary upon their pedicels, soft, yellowish green. "Burakan".
