TANGANYIKA Cyperus A perennial herb with stout rhizomes, leaves linear 2-ribbed glabrous and glossy, flowering stem up to 6ft« tall 3-angular with several leaf«*like bracts at the apex, spikelets yellow-green flushed brown long and narrow, crowded in Irregular umbels at the apex of the flowering stem of about 6 in all# dominant in a swamp with scattered clumps of Cyperus immensus and towards the south large stands of Aesehynomene and surrounded on the higher ground by Pennisetum sal if ex then a fringe belt of Cynodon dactylon-Penriisetum mezianum and Themeda triandra«KKXKKBI t« 2, Eastern side of Hgorongoro Crater Floor, 550ft« alt, terminating the northern extension of the Oljoro Nyuki Swamp; 2^/7/1966* P.
