Clematis fruticosa var. canescens Turcz.

Qinghai Province. Chindu Xian: Oba village: 32°55’32"N;
97°15’58"E. Elevation 3500 m. Steep slopes, cliffs and
ravines along the Tongtien River. Vegetation mostly scattered
shrubs of Elscholtzia fruticosa, Juniperus {Sabina), Caragana
and Hedysarum multijugum.
Mostly restricted to one area on ridge and cliff. Shrubs ca.
1-1.5 m tall with strict to arching stems. Some plants in full
flower, others with only developing fruit; petals waxy, yellow,
stamens yellow.
