Locality. Pelagus Rapids small
stream off left bank. 3rd Division.
Primary forest, stream side. 50 ft.
Tree ¿4.5* . Bole 25f . Girth 18”. Bark
dull chocolate brown, apart from a
few shallow dipplea absolutely
smooth. Inner bark pink, some white
sap. Sapwood pale fawn, pink towards
heart. Twigs rather smooth, greyish-
brown, with copious white sap. Lvs in
la& terminal Spirals to 10”, lflets
opp. terminal IfLet present or absent,
shining mid-green above, paler below.
Rhachis & midrib & veins below brown.
Young lvs open pale grey-green. Frt
in small panicles on old wood of twigs,
axes pale brown, pericarp very pale
green, silky, rather hard, containing
white sap.
