Deciduous forest on hilly terrain, Bursera spp. dominant.
Tree 2.5 m x 8.5 cm, with mutiple stems. Outer bark not
peeling, pale yellowish gray, immature fruits pale green.
Occasional Second part of name refers to how the peeling
bark flutters in the breeze like a butterfly.
Use: wood used for carvings
