In small clumps of 1-4 stems, scattered in woods; on N-slope. a) Mesic to moist meadows in Larix sibirica— Betula pendula—Pinus sylvestris—P. sibirica forest, with Veratrum lobelianum, Cacalia sibirica, Geum strictum, Campanula spp. on paved road to lookout. Alt. 500-700m (1650-23001) Cbl) Mesic open Betula pendula—Populus tremula—Pinus sibirica—P. sylvestris forest (rarely burned and grazed) with boreal forest (N-slope) and montane meadow (S-slope) vegetation. Assoc, spp.: Crepis hastata, Aconitum septentrionale (A. excelsum), A. barbatum, Anemone narcissiflora, Dianthus superbus, Saussurea parviflora, Ledum palustre, Vaccinium vitis-idea, Zigadenus sibiricus. Top of ridge E of lookout.
