Field Char: Treelet 5 m tall, dbh 5 cm. Young
twigs purplish-green. Flowers greenish-white.
Fruit pear-shaped, 3-4 cm long, dirty
green-purplish; inside pulpy, orange.
Locality: Sumatra: Sekundur Forest Reserve, E.
side of Gunung Leuser Natural Park, Langkat,
Prov. of North Sumatra. Base camp at Aras
Napal, upper Besitang River area.
Habitat: Almost primary forest on undulating
land. Well drained yellow-brown mixed
sand-loam soil. Locally scattered cf.
Orania, up to 20 m tail,
