Takeuchi, May 1997 Field Char: Woody climber; stem hairs reddish-brown; primary rachides of inflorescence opposed; all axes with indumentum as the stem; flowers acute in bud, in 4's; light purple; pericarp purple; sepals persisting. Notes: This climber is a serai species said to frequently occur in areas overgrown with Gleichenia. Locality: East Sepik Province, Waskuk Hills, first buttress ridge above the foot track between Garuka and Waskuk. Territory of the Glei Clan. Habitat: Hill forest. 60 m„ 40ll'S X 142°44'E W.
