A big scrambling root climber ascending to
the tops of tall trees, or entirely epiphy**
tic. Flowers reddish. Whole plant glabrous,
Styles united, cells of ovary 5, seeds flat4<
tened or slightly convex. Most specimens
seen are in full ripe fruit, very conspicu-
ous; berries red on one side, tawny on the
other. Petals purple, early deciduous;
