US WS NEVADA NATURAL HERITAGE PROGRAM Plants of DOUGLAS COUNTY, NEVADA, U.S.A. Rosaceae Rose Family Purshia glandulosa Curran DESERT BITTERBRUSH SIERRA NEVADA, CARSON RANGE: Jacks Valley Wildlife Management Area, along lower Clear Creek Trail just above (north of) Jacks Valley Road, Carson Valley watershed. Locally dominant. Decomposed granite gravel and sand sloping 10-20° SSE, with Artemisia tridentata, Purshia tridentata, Prunus andersonii, Ephedra viridis, Chrysothamnus viscidiflorus viscidiflorus, Eriogonum elatum, Greeneocharis circumscissa, Mentzelia albicaulis, Phacelia curvipes, Erodium cicutarium, etc. Shrubs 1-2 m in flower & bud, petals cream. Local P. tridentata in early fruit, no hybrids seen. ELEVATION 5140 ft (1567 m). 39.09348°N 119.80426°W (±5m), WGS1984 datum. T14N R19E S12, SW/4 ofNW/4.
