WASHOE VALLEY: Just east of East Lake Blvd and north of Skinner Drive, just north of
New Washoe City, Virginia Range watershed. Locally common. Sandy granitic alluvial soil
sloping 5°W, with Artemisia tridentata, Purshia tridentata, Prunus andersonii, Ephedra
viridis, Greeneocharis circumscissa, Camissonia contorta, Mentzelia albicaulis, Gilia
modocensis, Descurainia pinnata, Erodium cicutarium, Sisymbrium altissimum, Ribes
velutinum, etc. Annuals, corollas deep yellow with blood red spot and markings.
