The galls induced by this species strongly resemble those of Tremella evemiae, a species confined to Evemia mesomorpha. It differs from that species by the much larger and constantly 1 -septate basidia (vs 2-4-celled basidia, 9-14 x 9-13 pm) with cells that become longer than the septum, aid from many lichenicolous species by the large basidio- spores.
