Gates, 1992 Principal interest: 5-6 strips of inner bark, mixed with 4 lOcm-strips of "natem" (CFL 13$*) and 12 leaves of "yaji" (148), all boiled in 3 liters of water boiled down to 50ml of viscous, opaque liquid ("punto"); 10-50 ml drunk each evening. Indicated for various severe illnesses, incl. TB, malaria, yellow fever, and symptoms resembling female genito-urinary carcinomas and basal cell carcinomas. Widely used as a psychotropic. C. F.
