Ericaceae
Kuril Archipelago: Chirpoi, inland coastal margin of Peschanaya Bay;
near rocky outcrops to the east; on slope to adjacent peak. Lava
outcrop will alpine plants dominated by Salix, Empetrum, Vaccinium;
surrounding slopes dominated by Calamagrostis.

Aging calyces reddish, leaves thin, deciduous, pilose on periphery,
glossy green above and below
