  • Description

    A young tree; stem erect, 5 inches thick, 15 feet high: white wood soft and pulpy, tasteless, with a distinct candy or sweet chewing gum odour; bark brown, dark brown lenticelled, tough, easily stripping, green beneath the epidermis: branches divaricate, widely spreading and freely re-branched; leaves descending, chartaceous, shining green on the upper more or less folded side, duller beneath, veins whitish, inflorescence ascending, green except the creamy white corolla and stamens.
