    common woody liane in high canopy, terminal stems typically projecting above the crown layer, populations in flower (no fruits); twigs terete, greenish-brown or pale brown, hirtellous; leaves spiral, firm, adaxial surface glossy dark green, abaxially light green or yellow-green, biglandular at the base; lamina linear-elliptic, typical blade 14.5 cm x 4 cm, apex acuminate, margins entire and distantly provided with setulose hairs, base acute; venation 3-or 5-plinerved, reticulations lax; petiole resembling the twigs, about .5 cm long, dorsally flattened; inflorescence racemose, ramiflorous and infrafoliar, bracteolate, epedunculate, rachis and pedicels red, all parts with an indumentum of white spreading hairs; perianth 5-merous; calyx cream or pink; corolla darker red.
