Edge of sidewalk between old industrial building and street,
with small pockets of soil dominated by Polycarpon
tetraphyllum; full sun. Sepals green, thick, keeled, mucronate1
plants annual, forming low tufts; apparently the second wave
of growth for the year following fall rains and an earlier round
of flowering in mid-summer; abundant weed in sidewalk
cracks along street. Photographed.
