andKopi. 144° 15’E, T 30’S.
Tree ~13m, dbh ~20cm. Tree structure has a low, spreading crown.
Leaves heart-shaped and large (24cm x 18cm), pubescent above and
below Leaves, alternate, spirally arranged, annulate stipule scars.
Young leaves have a silvery tomentum above and below. Stipules
enclosing youngest leaves have soft brown hairs on edges. Petioles
and twigs with numerous, flexible, sharp, brown prickles (~0.5cm
k>ne) Twigs, hollow. White, sticky latex copious throughout. Fruits
* 0 5cm diameter), brownish green with brown dots on surface,
crrowing in clusters from long (up to 1.5m) branches drooping down
from the trunk. Peduncle, 0.5cm long.
