Flora of Montauk Suffolk County, New York CUPRESSACE4E Juniperus coi\ferta Pari. United States of America. New York: Suffolk County. East Hampton Town, hamlet of Montauk. Benson Reservation, in sandy back- dunes. (41.02961N 071.95485W). Shrub; evergreen; spread 8.2 m x 8.2 m, female cones olive green with bluish waxy blush. Growing in association with Morelia pensylvanica, Pinus thunbergii, Schizachyrium scoparium, Carex silicea, Juncus gerardii, Festuca sp. and Rosa rugosa. *Note, in vicinity there are 10 plants in a ~one mile stretch of back- dunes, represented by specimens 1864-1872.
