wood white and soft; bark smooth, grayish white9 or when
old checked, dotted with transverse lenticels; petioles as-
sending, green except the brown basal portion; smooth esria*
oeous leaves descending, strongly oonduplicate on the upper
side and with recurred tips; branchlets not rigid, quite
numerous, ascending, erewned by dark shining green learres
which are semeehat paler beneath ; figs in the axils of leaved
'«.but especially along the leaf bearing twigs, in tm clus-
ters of 1 to 5 from the axils of fallen leaves, ascending,
soft, pale white, and the sise of peas when mature; Luc-
ban, May, 1907.
