Georeferencing Method
Corrected label coordinates. Coordinates were taken from an existing site record in the NY database (NY site IRN: 36351; locality description: "Bahia, Mun. Uruçuca, Escola Media de Agropecuaria Regional da CEPLAC (EMARC). Reserva Gregório Bondar") which strongly appears to correspond to the same collection locality as this site record. This was done because the coordinates found on this collection label are clearly inaccurate, as they point to a location far away in another municipality. It is possible that the lat/long digits found on the label were correct, but were simply presented in the wrong format (ie. 14° 59' S 39° 16' W = 14.59° S 39.16° W), however these transformations did not yield a location imediatly within the cluster of points assocaited with other collections that share this collection locality "Escola Media de Agropecuaria Regional da CEPLAC (EMARC). Reserva Gregório Bondar". Therefore, it was decided to borrow the lat/long coordiantes of another collection from this location. An uncertainty radius of 2km was added to compensate for possible error due to the assignment of coordinates from another collector at this location.
