    Humid stony flat, in dense woods.

  • Description

    large tree, bole straight, terete, 2 1/2 feet thick, 50 feet high, mostly branched toward the top: wood conspicuously ringed, the sappy white portion with semiviscid sulphurous sap; bark smoothish, brown, thick, the inner sade sappy white, the middle portion yellowish (on the branches the inner side is yellow, beneath the epidermis auranticus), pith auranticus; twigs ascending, dull brown; leaves horizontal or descending, chartacious shallowly folded on the upper darker green side tips much recurved; figs usually in pairs on leaf axils er in their scars, divaricate or subpendant, upon flexible green stalks, shining light green, the white torus thick, the florits red, less than 3/4 in diameter.
