  • Description

    Shrub-like tree 15 feet high; wood soft, odorless and tasteless, whitish; bark smooth, brightly mottled; main branches from below the middle, ascending, ultimately numerously re-branched; twigs very slender, brown, usually with ascending tips; chartaceous leaves horizontally or ascendingly recurved, deep green and half shining on the upper surface, much lighter beneath; figs descending, upon yellowish green pedicels, yellow and with red conspicuously raised umbilical scales, ultimately soft and deep red all over; fruits usually single from the leaf axils, ⅓ inch thick.
