    in dry sub-fertile soil of wooded flats.

  • Description

    Lax shrub; stem 1½ inches thick, terete, 15 feet high, laxly branched from the middle; wood quite solid, latericious, odorless and tasteless, the thin sapwood and whitish bark grayish and smooth; hypodermis green, otherwise whitish and with a similar sap; branches long, sparingly rebranched, the twigs suberect; leaves chartaceous, paler and more or less [? the nether side; tips recurved, yellowish white; figs 1 to 3 clustered leaf axils, soft, green, pale yellow, reddish and ultimately black on the same twig.
