Habitat
Broad, open sandy wash. Dominated by Ephedra nevadensis and Artemisia tridentata parishii, with numerous perennial and annual herbs. Locally common.

Description
shrub, 0.5--1 m. high. Shrubs ca.5-10 dm. tall, with grayish-green widely-branching stems. Leaves opposite, though uncommonly in whorls of three on vigorous shoots of a few plants. Phenology of specimen: Fertile.
