a dead conifer, in a hardwood swamp with maple (Acer), elm ([Ulmus), and sparse conifers,
bordered by rocky outcrops, along Ausable River, west side of NY Route #21. - elev. 500 ft. -
UTM 18 0585097E 4904975N - Lat. 44° 17’ 35” N, Long. 73° 56’ 00” W - Assoc, spp.:
Hypogymnia physodes, Parmelia squarrosa, Flavoparmelia caperata, Usnea merrillii, Usnea
filipendula.
Thallus corticolous, foliose, blue-gray, sorediate; medulla white, C+ red; underside black with
brown margins; soralia marginal, small; pseudocyphellae small, inconspicuous.
