  • Description

    Medium sized tree; stem 6 inches thick, 18 feet high; branches mostly above the middle, the ultimate ones ½ inch thick, very slender, with sub-erect tips; wood moderately hard or oft, dirty white without odor and nearly tasteless; bark smooth, grey; with latex; leaves coriaceous, chiefly horizontal, folded upon the upper sub-lucid and much deeper green surface, veins greenish white beneath; heads elongate globose or more or less Irregular, 2 inches across, yellow and sticky, upon ¾ inch long green stalk arising from the uppermost leaf axils, recurved.
