BREADFRUIT OF THE PACIFIC ISLANDS Mei tehid Artocarpus altilis Parkinson (Fosberg) MORACEAE Kosrae Tofol Kosrae Agriculture Station. Growing along stream behind building with office of Director of Agriculture and Land. Introduced from the Pohnpei Agriculture Station in 1970s by Critin Philips. No fruits. Unusual leaf, entire with tip rounded with small lobes upper 1/4 giving it a scalloped appearance. Young leaves often have often have a single lobe or pair of lobes. Very dark, leathery, brittle blade with yellow veins. Many stiff long white hairs on upper veins. Underside very rough. Introduced from the Agriculture Station in Pohnpei in 1970s.
