BREADFRUIT OF THE PACIFIC ISLANDS Unknown Artocarpus altilis Parkinson (Fosberg) MORACEAE Kosrae Tofol Kosrae Agriculture Station breadfruit collection. Downhill to ocean side of Ragone 590, direcdy across from Samoan cultivar (Ragone 558) behind main building. Collection planted in the 1970s under the direction of Critin Philips. No fruits. Leaves asymmetrical, deeply dissected with 3-4 pairs of lobes and a large tip. Some leaves have one lobe on one side and 2-3 lobes on the other. Glossy blade with green veins. No hairs. Large trunk with buttress roots, up to 1 m diameter. Tree topped and only 2 m in height with numerous new shoots.
