United States of America. Tennessee. Hancock Co. Kyles Ford Falls trail system. Ca. 0.5 km east of a bend in the Upper Clinch River, along a path cut perpendicular to the ridge. Ca. 1.9 km east of intersection of 33 & 70. South of the Upper Clinch River.

Habitat
Long abandoned agricultural site, mixed wooded and open spaces. Wooded sites dominated by Fagus-Quercus-Acer forest, open sites dominated by Miscanthus sinensis with mixture of Verbesina alternifolia, Vernonia, and other Asteraceae. Low system of ridges with streams.

Flowers brilliant deep plum-purple. In flower when collected; flowers matured to fruits in press / drier. Phenology of specimen: Flower, Fruit.
