HIPTAGE Gaertner f rtopteris jamaicenili Blanco Pt- Filip. (1837) 350; ed. 2 (1845) 267; ed. ; 3, 2 (1878) 133, non Linn.=HIPTAGE LOHERI Merr. hom. nov. Blanco’s Triopteris jamaicensis was reduced by Kernandez- Villar to Hiptage madablota Gaertn., which is certainly correct ms to the genus, but wiong as to the species; Gaertner’s species is unknown from the Philippines. I am convinced that I am correct in interpreting Triopteris jamaicensis Blanco as that species of Hiptage which is found in the vicinity of Manila. Blanco cites specimens from Malinta, Rizal Province, Luzon, and from Cefrijf; thei^tter doubtless the form recently described by Mr. Elmer as Hyptage cebuensis. Hiptage loheri is very closely allied to H. jmanica Blume, and the specimens I now refer to H. loheri were previously reported by me as H. javanica Blume. The following specimens from Rizal Province, Luzon, I now riefer to H. loheri: Loher 5768, 5786, 5789, Merrill 170U, 501*6, _ For. Bur. 420, 2660 Ahern’s collector.
