Low herb with globose, onionlike bulb. Leaves flat, narrow, grasslike, up to 30 cm.
long and 5 mm. wide. Flowers rose colored, about 3 cm. long, solitary, on slender hollow
scapes nearly as long as the leaves.
Introduced ornamental (9724). Common in dooryards, and naturalized
and frequent along roadsides and in waste areas. English name, zephyr lily.
