Field Char: Treelet 7 m tall, dbh 5 cm. Wood
soft. Leaves membranous, light bright green.
Flowers salmon-pink, darker in the center.
Fruit bright orange-red, seeds blue-black.
Locality: Sumatra: Sekundur Forest Reserse, E.
side of Gunung Leuser Natural Park, Langkat,
Prov. of N. Sumatra. Base camp Trenggulun,
Upper Besitang River area.
Habitat: Rather exposed on rock debris mixed
with sand-clay soil, bordering river.
