Description
Slender erect tree; stem 6 inches thick, 30 feet high, branched chiefly at the top, subterete, wood very soft, odorless and tasteless, dingy white or murky in the center; bark thick, smooth and greyish white, the inner portion yellowish; branches erect, rebranched, lax, the ultimate ones short; leaves horizontally spreading, subchartaceous, shallowly folded upon the upper slightly greener surface; inflorescence similarly spreading, all the stalks pale green, perianth pale red on the outside, deep red on the inner side, soft, pendulous; flowers odorless and early falling;.
